Gakuran Map & Locations

The stage is Japan's "Nishikata High" and the surrounding streets β€” and the map keeps expanding with each update.

Real screenshots: from the sakura courtyard to the basement, the mood spans day and night.

Safe-zone mechanic

Buildings/rooms on the map are split into different zone types that decide whether you can fight inside:

Green

No fighting

Entering a green zone automatically drops your combat stance β€” you can't fight. Nearly every room on campus except the bathroom is a green zone. The coffee shop is also green.

Neutral

Normal activity

For example, 7-Eleven is a neutral zone.

Red

Fighting allowed

For example, the Club is a red zone β€” one of the places where fighting is legal.

🚻

Want to fight on campus? The bathroom is one of the few indoor spots that isn't a green zone β€” which is why "bathroom brawls" are so common in the community.

🏫 Main school building (3 floors)

  • Floors 1 & 3: mostly the same layout; floor 3 still has large empty areas (no content yet).
  • Floor 2: the most special floor, home to the music room.
  • Entering classrooms: switch to first person (PC: Tab) to walk into rooms.
  • There are some NPCs inside. The whole building is still early in development.

🎡 Music room (floor 2)

Almost every room on campus is a green zone, and so is the music room. This is where the rhythm game lives, using real copyrighted songs. You can also play piano (G then 6, a Friday Night Funkin-style rhythm game).

πŸ“Ή

Content creators: playing music with several people will most likely trigger copyright. Whether there are lyrics depends on player count β€” record with care.

πŸ€ Basketball court (courtyard)

Basketball is surprisingly well done, similar to the NBA 2K series, emphasizing timing:

  • Shooting requires nailing the timing meter (F to shoot); hitting a "perfect/green" is key.
  • There's a defense system: tight defense lowers the opponent's shooting accuracy (light / heavy contest), but there are no steals yet.
  • Moves include: behind-the-back dribble, crossover, drive, fadeaway jumper (timed), and layups.
  • Height matters in basketball β€” taller players have an edge.

In-game clips: the basketball court and the "height decides everything" moments.

πŸ™οΈ Surrounding streets

The streets outside school have several shops β€” some tied to the jobs system, some not yet functional:

🍜

Sushi / ramen shop

Sit down to eat ramen, use emotes; NPCs sit around inside.

β˜•

Coffee shop

Green a place you can apply for work. An easter egg hides behind the counter (see below).

πŸͺ

7-Eleven

Neutral apply for work here; shifts open around 10 PM. The door is a bit buggy.

πŸͺ©

Club

Red at the end of the alley β€” the highest-paying job. A DJ NPC plays music at the entrance.

🐱

Cat Cafe

Beautifully decorated, but you can't work here yet.

πŸ‹οΈ

Gym

Train PvP or just hang out; some athletic-wear cosmetics are available.

🧺

Laundromat

No interactive content yet.

🚲

Bike shop

No function yet; likely to sell bikes and clothing in the future.

🍰

Sweet Treats

Likely a job spot (a stats prompt appears above), but entry isn't fully implemented yet.

🌊

Waterside rest area

A quiet spot on the right side of the map where you can sit by the water.

πŸ₯Š

Club DJ NPC: actually plays music, and can combo you. Don't pick a fight unless you really know the game's combat β€” even veterans say "one touch and you're gone."

πŸ”« Easter egg: the only gun

Behind the coffee shop counter there's a visible gun (players call it a Glock / Uzi). As far as the community knows, it's the only visible gun in the whole game β€” purely an easter egg; there's no real gun gameplay.

Future content (community speculation)

  • Several map edges have invisible walls that may open into new areas (e.g. zones to buy bikes and clothing).
  • An Affiliations (gangs / factions) system is planned β€” essentially "gang wars."
  • School years, class schedules and real "class" RP may be added.
⏱️

In-game time is compressed: about 1 real minute β‰ˆ 3–5 in-game seconds, so day/night cycles fast and job shift windows come around quickly.
