Gakuran tier list at a glance
| Tier | Fighting style | Why it lands here |
|---|---|---|
| S | Boxing | i-frame uninterruptible heavy — phases through your attacks and can't be interrupted. Clearly the best style. |
| A | Karate | Powerful ragdoll heavy plus Resilience 2 (~25% grapple roll) — the strongest grappler and a safe meta pick. |
| B | Hikari | High burst: a full M1 combo opens a ~7s window of 3× heavy damage. Great on short, fast builds. |
| B | Muay Thai | Reliable ragdoll heavy with steady damage — solid mid-tier all-rounder. |
| C | Wrestling | Unique Takedown (1.5×) but brutal end-lag on a whiff and low resilience/pierce. Needs a buff. |
| C | Basic | The balanced starter style — no glaring weakness, but outclassed by the rarer picks at high level. |
This is a community tier list, not official. Boxing and Karate are the clearest standouts in current footage; lower tiers shift most when the developers rebalance. Always defer to the live game version.
Tier breakdown
🏆 S tier — Boxing Best
Boxing's i-frame uninterruptible heavy lets it move invincibly through your attacks while staying unblockable, making the matchup feel unfair. If you roll Boxing, keep it. To beat one, bait the heavy into a whiff and punish, or take over with parries — see Combat.
🥈 A tier — Karate
The best second pick and arguably the safest overall. A powerful ragdoll heavy plus Resilience 2 (~25% grapple chance) wins clashes and punishes hard. Pairs well with most height builds.
🥉 B tier — Hikari & Muay Thai
Hikari is a glass-cannon burst style: land a full M1 combo and you open a ~7-second window where your heavy deals 3× damage — devastating on short, high-speed characters. Muay Thai is the dependable workhorse: a ragdoll heavy and steady damage with no big weaknesses.
🔻 C tier — Wrestling & Basic
Wrestling has the flashiest move — the Takedown slam (1.5×) — but a missed Takedown leaves you wide open, and its resilience/guard pierce are low. Basic is a clean all-rounder that's perfect for learning the game but gets out-scaled by the rarer styles in serious PvP.
How to get the best style (reroll)
You don't pick your style directly — it's randomly assigned at character creation, and you can reroll for about 5 Robux on the second page of the Stats panel.
Open the Stats panel
Head to the second page of Stats, where your current fighting style and its perks are shown.
Reroll for ~5 Robux
Each reroll randomly assigns a new style. There's no pity system, so rolling a top-tier style is pure luck.
Stop on S/A tier
Keep rerolling until you land Boxing or Karate; Hikari is a strong keep too if you run a short, aggressive build.
Quick advice: want the safest meta pick? Aim for Karate. Want the highest ceiling? Boxing. Consider your choice together with your height build and the combat mechanics.
